David was a wonderful man; a loving husband, a committed and involved father and grandfather, and a caring doctor. I have been privileged to have known and called David a friend for the last 48 years. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him, but none so much as his family. My heart goes out to Fay, Mat and Jess at this terrible time. Know you are loved.

I was greatly saddened by Davids passing. He had so much more to do and so much more to give.

I consider David a colleague, mentor and friend.
We worked together for many years at Wynter Street Medical Centre. When David joined the practice he brought a new energy and enthusiasm and was so innovative and forward thinking. He was a caring GP and an astute diagnostician. I had no hesitation in asking him to provide medical care for my own young family and often consulted him on problematic cases.
He was also fantastic at the business side of General Practice and was instrumental in developing and expanding the surgery.

David contributed greatly to the Taree medical community and will be sorely missed.

To Fay and family , we are thinking of you at this sad time.

Please accept our condolences.

Love, Kevin Shiels and Family

The best measure of friendship is the impact one person has on another person's life.
When I was eighteen years old and somewhat lost, Dave very kindly arranged a share house for the two of us for a period of twelve months. I was able to get my life back on track and the result was being able to obtain a Medical Degree.
Again when I was an Intern, he strongly encouraged and indeed orchestrated a first date involving myself and my future wife.
Both acts of friendship have had a hugely positive impact on my life.
Dave has passed away far too early but I will always fondly remember him as a truly great friend.
