We met John when he was a travel agent in the late 70's - he became a life long friend sharing many parties and dinners. He was a true character, intelligent, articulate and funny. RIP my friend

What a character!! I met John when I was 4 years when he drove my mother to the hospital to deliver my sister in his Mercedes.
We were newly arrived migrants and didn't have a car.
That was almost 70 years ago!
Since then we have laughed, sung, danced, eaten and drunk together at many happy fiestas. ( which he often intiated!)
John was a true people magnet.
A visit to John, even just a drop in, always became a party - music, drinks, food, boisterous singing around the piano and stories.
Oh, the stories! John was never short of story.
We miss you old friend. Thanks so much for all you gave.
We are grateful and better off for having you in our lives.

RIP John

Eight years ago we came from Colombia, South America, to live in Tweed Heads,Australia.
Our first contact with a person who speaks Spanish around the area was with John (Juan) and David. Juan introduced us to the Spanish group in Murwillumbah. We think our best friends in Australia at the moment are part of this group.
We had many conversations, drinks, meals around a table, and we are not going to forget his laugh and his love for the Spanish language and slang.
Adiós Juan, siempre te recordaremos. Gracias por tu amable recibimiento.
We can only say that gratitude is the language of the heart.

John was the most unique person I have ever known. His wonderful personality was unforgettable and he leaves a wonderful legacy of friendship to so many at the end of a long and rich life which was so well spent.
Hasta pronto, amigo querido. La banda va a empezar tocar!
