I'm so sorry to hear the news. Viv was (is still) a legend, and I'll always remember him well from our childhood. He was very kind to me many times, especially when my own dad died. Life won't be the same without him. I will always remember him.
Sending love to you all.
RIP Viv. My next door neighbour (Carolyn Halliday)
Great Bloke he would always greet you with "g'day fella”. (Step Wilson)
That is very sad news. I played cricket with Viv. He was my 1st captain back in 1978 when I moved here (Forster) as a young 14 year old in C grade as well as B grade after that. We all learnt so much from Viv
A real gentleman.
My condolences to his wife, Ellen, Anthony, David and Jane (Greg Micallef)
I also had the pleasure of playing with Viv and Anthony in the early 80's. I can remember him scoring 50+ I think in a final to win us the game. He has had a good innings and our thoughts are with his family. (David Birt)
Sad to hear. Viv was a fantastic person as well as a great cricketer. Captained/ coached me in B & C grade way back in mid to late 70s. (Wayne Wickenden)
I worked with Viv at the Council and played cricket with him and his son Anthony. Viv was a true gentleman and great competitor on the field (Ken Maytom)
Sad to hear Viv has passed away. Was an amazing man and cricketer, had a huge influence on my love of playing cricket in 70s/80s.
